The Challenge
Ukraine’s electricity grid continues to face targeted disruptions, leading to frequent and unpredictable blackouts. In 2024 alone, communities experienced nearly 2,000 hours of outages and 2025 already showing signs of further deterioration. When the power goes out, families lose heating, lighting, access to communications and essential household operations. Schools are forced to close, healthcare facilities rely on limited backup systems and businesses use diesel generators, slowing economic recovery and straining community survival.
These ongoing energy disruptions leave people vulnerable during emergencies and make everyday life increasingly difficult. The need for reliable, local, decentralised energy has never been more urgent.

Our Solution
P2U delivers fast, decentralised emergency power by combining local solar, electric vehicle battery storage, and portable batteries within a community-led system that can quickly respond to outages delivering power where it's needed most.
The P2U makes use of solar arrays to generate clean, decentralised energy directly within the community

Before deploying decentralised energy systems in war-affected regions, it's essential to test and refine them in stable environments.
Alongside Power to Ukraine, we operate a parallel project in England – Appleby Energy – where the same decentralised energy and mobility model is developed and tested under peaceful conditions.
This allows us to validate logistics, operations, and technology in real-world settings, identify issues early, and improve the system before deployment. Insights from Appleby are applied directly in Ukraine, ensuring energy services remain reliable under extreme conditions.
By testing in England and deploying in Ukraine, we reduce risk and ensure donor funds support solutions proven to work.
